Pharmacy Technician (PRN)

CompleteRx is looking for a Pharmacy Technician (Part-Time) to provide exceptional patient care at South Shore Hospital; a 100-bed acute care facility located in South Chicago, IL.

Ready to add some flexibility to your work life? We’re hiring a 1st shift and 2nd shift to work every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday).

Pay Rate: $19 an hour

2nd Shift Pay Differential: $1.65 per hour

Work Schedule:

  • Saturday and Sunday every other weekend (rotation).
  • 1st shift: 7am - 3pm
  • 2nd shift: 12pm - 8pm
  • Flexibility to pick up shifts during the week or opposite weekend as needed.

What You Will Do

  • Ensures procurement and distribution of drug orders.
  • Identifies and fills replacement medications on emergency crash carts, OR carts, and floor stock accurately.
  • Prepares sterile products (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition) accurately.
  • Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas accurately.
  • Rotates stock to ensure use before the expiration date.
  • Picks up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
  • Enters charges and credits for patient medications accurately.
  • Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs.

What You Will Need

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of pharmacy technician experience preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Possess current pharmacy technician registration in the State of employment/practice if required.
  • Possess National Pharmacy Technician Certification if required in the State of employment/practice. Where not required, it is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training course is preferred.
